With his 6 inch lift sandals, engraved 8 pack breastplate and axe/scepter that looks more decorative than deadly, I have to wonder if Captain Henrako’s determination to engage the enemy before sunset is about making sure everyone gets a look at his fabulous outfit rather than sound tactics.
It’s interesting that sign language has to be used for underwater communication. It just hadn’t occured to me before, but how do ludoch communicate among themselves? Does Seaspeech work in an aqualtic medium? Can they only gesture?

I imagined it to be a clicking like dolphins and the sounds whales made perhaps.
Seatongue works best in an aquatic medium. It includes both gestures and sounds.
Is it me or does that ludoch man have an inverted barntar rune on his abdomen? A submerged agar agar farmer perhaps?
“Gasp”?? No-one has a Breathe Water spell?? They obviously regularly converse with the Mer-people.. I would think someone would have thought of it..
Q: How do mer-people mate?
