Man, if I was the giants I’d send down two cradles. The first a couple of days before the second. The second would contain baby and treasures. The first would contain curses, plagues and magical bombs. 😛
I always sort of assume Sor-Eel would be dark-haired, but since he is a (Dara Happan) noble form the Lunar Heartlands it makes sense he would be blonde and blue-eyed. A proper member of the Sun God’s chosen.
Who is the man talking to him. Is he an aide or commander of one of the regiments stationed in Prax?
This series is only now touching on any events that I ever experienced in any Glorantha gaming.
Of course, given what we could figure out about politics & theology up to that point, and given that we were trying to take All That seriously, the game scenario setup didn’t make any sense at all to us, and so our The Great Cradle Robbery was an exercise in rushing the Blessed Miracle down to the Sea of Deep Enlightenment and Ten Lakhs of Fresh Diapers vs. the stooges of the vicious Pavis compradore class and their filthy hordes of Sartarite off-scruffings. It was hard to see any plausible setup besides that.
Anyway, even now I’m reading this mostly across the grain; but I’ve started to really enjoy this series — as someone who has never cared for ‘graphic novels’ under any name. The story leaves me very cold, sure. But now that non-cephalopod characters have been drawn with elbows, I’m really liking the artwork — and especially all the background bits! I really hope there’s more of the Zola Fel watershed coming in future episodes. For me, at least, this is where the webseries started firing on all cylinders!
At last we see the Cradle, and a day ahead of schedule!

I think Sor-Eel might actually be the dark haired chap who is ordering some flunky to go and do something about the cradle.
Sor-Eel is the black-haired noble pointing at the map. The man behind him is…I dunno, some kind of officer in the occupying forces.
Very nice. Although in my mind, Sor-Eel will always look like I imagine Pontius Pilate: short, chubby and with receeding hair. I don’t know why. 🙂
