End of Chapter 5
Greetings gentle readers! As you can see, this week we actually won’t have a page up either. In fact, after discussing things with Jeff, we have decided to end Chapter 5 here. The page that was supposed to go out today will instead be the beginning of Chapter 6, as we continue towards the real battle for the Cradle. Prince of Sartar will be back on track at the end of February, as I take the time from regular posting to catch up on pages and have enough of those ready by the time we’re back! (This also has the added side benefit of giving my colorist the time to work properly on each page, and not try and burn himself out every week due to backlogs)
– Kalin
Thanks, guys, for another fantastic chapter!
Looking forward to the next one! My only regret regarding it is that you didn’t end chapter 5 on page 91 – it would have been an excellent end page.
Any ETA for the next strip? 🙂
What’s the word? See my query on Patreon–thanks!
I was thinking of becoming a Patreon, but … not at a monthly rate when your production is so inconsistent. Offer a “per 4 comics” rate and I’m in.
That’s fair enough. The comic has suffered as a result of other projects, not much to be done about that.
I wasn’t mocking–I do Patreonize other creators on a “every time you release a [video/book/comic]” basis.
I was thinking much the same thing, but then this project started following the pattern of a number of others – an event, followed by paying projects and another event, increasingly irregular schedule, finally an admission that nobody knows when or if there will be another update. I’m putting Prince of Sartar on the “check back in three months, then regretfully abandon” list since it’s statistically unlikely that it will ever have regular updates again.
It’s very sad. The art and story were great. But paying work for a real customer has to take priority, and it’s very difficult to keep getting out of and back into the groove on a long-term project.
Sorry to ask this question, but would it possible to make a kickstarter t print the past volumes?
Once we finish the next chapter (which is coming, despite the long delay), we will collect all of this into a printed volume. That was always the intentions when we started the comic.
Given the revival in RQ and Glorantha, the next twelve months should see more interest in the comic as a paper publication. At least, I hope so.
Hoping to see more, when time allows
Any news? New panels? Progress on the book?
Waiting to get some scripts from Jeff (it’s Eternal Con time right now, so I imagine that will happen next week), and then we’re back on track, finally!
FIngers crossed!
