Somehow I think Lionfish’s greeting would work a lot better without that pesky light spell on the spear.
Javis Gan is quite the name dropped here. Does Sor-eel have an idea that he is up against the Rubble trolls?
I imagine he might suspect it, although technically the Lunar boarding party never saw any trolls, as they all went below deck way before the fighting began.
Heh. Always good to have that Darkness worshiper on your side when the huge troll comes out, hungry as usual.
I think this troll has the fewest runes displayed of anyone in the comic so far. Not a divine magician, I’d guess.
He’s a Rune Lord, in fact. Trolls generally don’t do a lot of tattooing, since 1. They’ll probably not even see it themselves and 2. Their skins tend to be rather dark and it would be hard to show up anyway.
So instead they practice scarification, and in fact the scars on his arm there are runes. Also, he IS wearing armour, after all.
Is he a Death Lord or a Kaarg’s Son? I’ d love the correct answer was the first one!!!!
Javis Gan is a Zorak Zoran Death Lord. And yes, he should be in a troll death metal band.
But trolls hate the death metal!
Actually, shouldn’t any Heortling adult know the appropriate Greeting for Uz? They were, after all, part of the Kingdom of Night for centuries after the Dawn, not to mention the Silver Age, and have been neighbors since resettlement.
When Javis Gan is speaking, the “I” is extra large. Is this because he is stressing it (in other words “I shall not eat you this time” makes no promises for the others behind him) or just a stylistic thing (implying just the one loaf was needed)?
Nah, the I thing is because the font we use for the comic is originally an all-caps one, which is forced into small caps through Photoshop. That ends up doing weird things to it.
Well, I’m certain that many of us join our heroes in saying, “Thank the gods for that.”
Bah-weep-graaaaagnah wheep nini bong.
Sorry… I just had to put that out there after seeing this. xD
The Machine City got weird after a few centuries…
Yaay, this thing is going again. 😀
