Would anyone care to hazard an interpretation of the way Wakboth is portrayed? Particularly the flame halo and mystic third eye. Echoes of Nysalor perhaps (but more fiery than lit up)? What does it indicate in the context of the Hero Wars?
That’s Arkat confronting young Orlanth in Hell on Argrath’s initiation? That seems odd; Wakboth would be a more likely hell-denizen, I’d think. Particularly since we know that the Sartarite Orlanthi regard Arkat as a liberator – something Argrath would be aware of since that’s the etymology of his own name.
We see Wakboth not three pages after that one. Arkat and his cult took the job of guarding the ways into the Other World, as well as the various paths between the myths, so maybe that’s why Argrath meets him – he is, after all, entering into the other side.
Exactly that’s why I am astonished that Keva identified the Ralzakark image with Wakboth rather than Gbaji.
Is she that familiar with Lunar iconography to know that Rufelza’s opponent was Wakboth in that plate? The demon in chapter 26 probably inherited its appearance (from the horns down to the curved sword – wait, in its left hand? a EWF reminder?) from the Carmanian bull shahs who were the major foe of Teelo Estara at that time.
Jörg, the priestesses at Ezel have access to a lot of knowledge of goddesses, even about Sedenya. Plus, there is recent evidence that at least some priestesses follow the path of illumination. So it is entirely possible that Kev the Visionary may know a lot more of the myths and even iconography of the Red Goddess that one might expect.
Alternatively, it is possible that the story is sourced Samastina’s ‘memoires’ with all she knows after going through the Hero Wars…
Jörg – in the second step Wakboth is depicted with the illuminate’s third eye. Why is that? Is it because it’s a Lunar account, or are we to read there being a more direct connection between chaos and illumination than illumination finding chaos unobjectionable?
John, I speculated elsewhere that the death of Rashoran makes him and his teachings of illumination the sacrificial fourth parent of Wakboth. Spreading illumination was the prerequisite for the mass invasion of the Predark.
Doom! Doom!

That would seem to be Ralzakark in his unicorn-headed king aspect. As an Illuminate, he’d be portrayed with a third eye.
Not the other Ralzakark?
We can never be *really* sure which Ralzakark it is.
how many are there?
To sum up the discussion on the G+ group:
The unicron head is clearly pointing to Ralzakark.
Compare chapter 26 of this comic, the second step:

The fiery halo and the third eye also remind of Arkat, whose Orlanthi description is depicted in the last panel of chapter 2 of this comic:

Everytime I see that depiction of Arkat I instantly think “Mahakala”… although he is a devotedly compassionate protector.

A unicron head would, I think, point to Unicron. Who is certainly a Chaos god. 😀 “A black night of chaos and uncreation comes!”

That’s some pretty serious prediction considering that the gods are bound by Time
As it is well known, nobody can see the future in Glorantha due to the great compromise, therefore here, have this prophecy. #GloranthanRules
Ralzakark! I *like* the third eye. And, of course, the horse-smirk.
