94 – The first assault, part 2
Hey everyone…sooo, as you can see, today’s page, beyond just being really late, is also rather devoid of color. Again. I always try to be straight with you about this, so here’s how it is – our colorist is working himself silly trying to color things and balance other jobs, so he simply wasn’t able to make it this week, HOWEVER we did get page 92 uploaded in full color, so you should go back and check that out (I think it turned out great!).
Also, next week, Jeff and I will be attending an event here in Bulgaria, and as such we decided it would be for the best to give next week off to our colorist, just so he’ll have a chance to catch his breath. Whether that means I’ll upload another black and white page, or the page will be missing altogether, I can’t tell you right now, since I just don’t know. I apologize yet again for the constant delays and page-skips we’ve had in our schedule for the past year or so, however real life keeps getting in the way, as it is wont to do.
Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy the bloodshed! (EDIT: And now, with added color around the bloodshed as well!)
– Kalin
I hope you, Jeff and your colorist manage to get a bit more balance into your lives. In the meantime, such a visceral page for the week! Thanks!
Incredibly gory, well done!
Ooh, draw one taking double negative hit point damage on a limb and then using magic to glue it back on.
the redhead (yelornan?) took at least a special in the shoulder – that spear went right through, back to front, and she’s still using the arm freely so I’m guessing her allied spirit dumped a massive healing in it. 😉
I like the attitude Lionfish shows toward the matter. ^_^
I think she’s a Vingan. She has prominent Air/Storm runic tattoos.
She also relies on javelins, which is Vinga’s primary weapon and is red-haired, which is how they dye their hair. Just like Lionfish relies on a spear because Argan Argar defeated Lodril and thus won the right to use the spear, which is normally a sky cult weapon. Vinga is the goddess of the Defending Storm, with a particular dedication to defending the defenseless, like children and pregnant women. I imagine she would have a particularly fierce dedication to protecting the Giant baby. I’m still getting up to speed on all the Glorantha lore myself so it’s really thrilling to see all this brought to life. 🙂
What I want to know is when did Griselda find religion …
I…….what? Griselda has so far been in two panels of the comic and has had 0 dialog, I’m not sure what your comment is about.
In Big Rubble, Griselda has no cult magic. She’s now on a boat, completely Vinga’d up with enough Orlanthi woad to hang out with Alakoring Dragonbreaker. There’s a story there.
But again – she isn’t? We see Griselda in two pages – page 82, panel 1, talking to her companion on top of the tarp, and then on page 93 – charging into battle with a sword. In neither one is she wearing woad (nobody so far has, actually. Everyone you see with blue on them is actually tattooed), nor displaying any magic. So yeah, I think you might be confused a bit here.
Griselda isnt the short-haired chick on this panel ?
No, she isn’t. I mean, she doesn’t look or act like Griselda, as you pointed out, and on page 86 Argrath specifically refers to her by her name – Rostala.
