A question, does Sedenya have a rounder face (and ears) than Jar-Eel?
I’d say slightly, yes. Why do you ask?
That is Jar-eel meditating behind Beat-Pot, I’ve just changed her design to have a rounder face, because…well basically, because I want to. 🙂
This contains an important theme of Lunar doctrine – the subjugation/”liberation” of rebels into willing subjects. The paralells between Beat Pot and Danfive Xaron in Lunar symbology are obvious – the Red Goddess riding the sky bear and the subjugation of Storm.
I like her better with the rounded face. Makes her seem better contrasted with the mortals around her. Good choice.
Btw, absolutely terrific series – mythopoeically and graphically engaging.
Thank you, I am glad you’re enjoying the comic so far!
As for Jar-eel’s design, opinion seems to be divided, which is to be expected.
The rounder “moon-face” seems more appropriate somehow. It chimes in with the image of the Moon’s face in the Guide.
Fantastic wrap up to this Chapter! I really liked the conceptualization of the “liberation” of Beat-Pot; and count me on the side of preferring Jar-Eel with the more rounded features…it fits in with the Lunar imagery, and she looks more feminine.
Jar-Eel looked similar to Argrath in earlier versions…
Can’t wait to see more.
